Austin, Texas | Life of a Wedding Photographer | A Weekend Trip to Mt. Bonnell

On our weekends off, Josh likes to wake me up bright and early Saturday morning for a surprise adventure around Austin!  We love trying new food places (breakfast being my favorite) and have found a handful of new favorites in the area.  Last weekend started our Saturday with a visit to the Veracruz All Natural food truck to test out the Migas.  Everyone here has been telling us how great they are so we had been wanting to try them out for a while!  We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great meal in Austin.

Migas is a mix of eggs, tortilla chips, avocado, pico de gallo, and cheese.  All wrapped up in your choice of a tasty flour or corn tortilla.  Josh also tried a chorizo, egg, and cheese taco and it was one of the best we have had in Austin so far!

After a nice big breakfast, we made our way to the Mt. Bonnell nature trail. We got there bright and early and there were only a few people on the trail when we started our hike. The trail begins with a big flight of stairs.  But after that it is pretty smooth sailing.  You're given gorgeous views of the river, a full view of the Austin skyline, as well as several smaller trails decorated with lovely bright wildflowers.  There were a few picnic tables, so we'll definitely have to come back with a little basket lunch.  It was such a gorgeous  morning.  The weather was perfect and we got lots of sun.  The trail was a fantastic time and we can't wait to take our friends and family there for future visits!
