Hello!  We are Rebecca and Joshua Hofstetter!

We are wedding photographers based in Austin, Texas.  We are a husband-wife team finding bright colors and sharing vibrant stories. Our favorites include: Traveling the countryside (specifically the great state of Texas as well as Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, and Nebraska!), sampling the local food trucks, and taste testing any and all beers.  We are constantly Snapchatting and Instagramming our adventures; whether it be our personal lives, our adventures around the country, or the beautiful weddings of our brides and grooms! We share our home in Hutto with our sweet little Bostie girl, Yoshi.

Thank you for your interest in our work!  We hope to meet with you soon.

Our story

I first fell in love with photography in my high school art class when I was 15 years old.  Ever since I first picked up a camera I have been totally absorbed in photographing people during the most emotional moments of their lives.  In 2008, I enrolled at Kansas State University to explore my passion.  I later graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography.

I began taking wedding and portrait sessions in the summer of 2009.  I found myself really connecting with my clients.  I care very genuinely about my brides and grooms.  I make it a point to really get to know each and every person I work with.  I want to become involved in your every day.  To connect with you on a personal level.  So that when we meet with you on your wedding day we aren't just creating images, but we are also telling your story.   We only accept a select number of weddings in a year so that we can give you the attention to detail we want each client to have.  We are available to you both day and night.  Because finding a vendor who really cares about you as a person and also has years of experience with weddings can sometimes be tricky.  We strive to be that person!

I met my soul mate in the summer of 2013.  After our first date I told my best friend that Joshua and I would get married.  She thought I was crazy, and I still might be, but I was absolutely right!  We married in July of 2015 on a hot summer day in Smithville, MO, surrounded by our closest friends and family.  We understand the importance of marriage.  We know that this is not only a wedding, but the joining of two lives.  It is not the first day of your lives together, but the sum of all the days you have spent falling in love over and over again.  This is the first day of your marriage, your happily ever after.  This is you marrying your best friend, and that is just so special!

Over the past three years Joshua has learned to photograph along side me.  He began by shooting landscapes on our first trip to Denver, Colorado in 2013.  He joined me on several portrait sessions before eventually shooting his first wedding in 2014.  He now functions as the business side of Mira Visu Photography as well as a primary photographer at all weddings and events.  For portrait sessions he is the "anything and everything".  Anyone who has worked with us has joked he should add "security guard", "lighting technician", "accountant", "animal control", and several other job titles to his resume.

We picked up our business and moved to the vibrant city of Austin, Texas in 2015.   A large part of our weekends are spent on the road, traveling between Austin and Kansas City, making frequent stops in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Manhattan, Kansas along the way.  On our weekends off we are scouting the area for new food trucks to try (we really fancy ourselves a breakfast taco), beers from local breweries to sample, hike parks and trails to scout for new portrait locations, and partake in the occasional Netflix or Playstation binge.

Whether it be Brides, Grooms, Families, Kids, or Pets, we are always enthusiastic to meet each client to create images that show off your individual personality.   We can't wait meet with you to begin telling your story!

Joshua and I have a combined 5 sets of grandparents, 3 sets of parents, 8 siblings (plus two sibling in-laws!), and 7 niblings (that's short for nephew/nieces).  We have a huge, big, crazy family and we love them to pieces.  Above is our only photo of the whole bunch (plus some of our closest friends!).  Thank you to Grant W. Photography for shooting our big day so we could share this moment!
